Villa Sahrai, Casablanca: Choosing an Affiliation That Matches the Ambition

The Challenge

Villa Sahrai, a new lifestyle hotel in Casablanca, was in pre-opening. It had a name and a strong architectural identity, but no brand DNA yet and no commercial framework to match its ambition. Room categories, pricing and offers needed to be structured, and ownership needed to find an international affiliation that would strengthen the hotel without diluting what made it distinctive.

What I Saw

This was not a hotel that should enter the market as simply another luxury property. Its architecture, design and experience could support a much more distinctive international positioning. The affiliation needed to reinforce that identity, not redefine it.

What We Did

I built the hotel’s commercial identity: offers, room categories and rate seasons. I evaluated international affiliation options against the hotel’s identity and proposed Design Hotels as the best fit. I then set up the rates in Opera PMS and opened distribution on Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda and Ctrip.

The Impact

Villa Sahrai joined Design Hotels and opened with the strength of the label behind it, along with strong media coverage.

An affiliation should never be chosen only for prestige. It should strengthen what already makes the hotel distinctive.
